En la primera semana de enero de 2017, realicé un viaje turístico a Marruecos junto con mi novia Elena durante seis días. Mi primera vez en el continente africano, que ganas tenía. Aunque fueron pocos días y las actividades que realizamos allí fueron puramente turísticas, pude observar 50 especies de las cuales 11 fueron nuevas para mí.
In the first week of January 2017, I made a tourist trip to Morocco together with my girlfriend Elena for six days. My first time on the African continent, I really wanted it. Marrakech
Nuestro viajé comenzó en Marrakech, donde comenzamos a ver las primeras especies en la Plaza Jemma el-Fna y los jardines del parque contiguo Lalla Hasna; bulbul naranjero (Pycnonotus barbatus), escribano sahariano (Emberiza sahari) los dos bastante abundantes; paloma torcaz (Columba palumbus), tórtola turca (Streptopelia decaoctos), cigüeña blanca (Ciconia ciconia), garcilla bueyera (Bubulcus ibis), cernícalo vulgar (Falco tinnunculus), golondrina común (Hirundo rustica), mosquitero común (Phylloscopus collybita), curruca capirotada (Sylvia atricapilla), curruca cabecinegra (Sylvia melanocephala), estornino negro (Sturnus unicolor), mirlo común (Turdus merula), petirrojo (Erithacus rubecula), gorrión común (Passer domesticus), lavandera blanca (Motacilla alba subpersonata), pinzón vulgar (Fringilla coelebs africana), verderón común (Chloris chloris) y vencejo moro (Apus affinis) volando al atardecer .

Atardecer en Marrakech
Al tercer día de nuestra estancia en Marrakech, contratamos una excursión en el día a la ciudad portuaria de Essaouira, lugar super recomendable para ir ya que de camino se atraviesan los cultivos de árboles de Argán. Durante el trayecto de ida y vuelta pude observar desde la furgoneta y en las paradas que realizamos para descansar las siguientes especies: chagra del senegal (Tsagra senegalus) y gorrión moruno (Passer hispaniolensis).
On the third day in Marrakech, we hired a day trip to the port city of Essaouira, a highly recommended place to go as the Argan tree crops are crossed on the way. During the round trip I could watch from the van and at the stops we made to rest the following species: Black-crowned tchagra and Spanish sparrow.
Una vez allí y rodeados constantemente de gaviota patiamarilla (Larus michahellis atlantis) y gaviota sombría (Larus fuscus intermedius), pudimos observar de diferentes especies marinas y costeras mientras disfrutábamos de las vistas desde la ciudad amurallada; zarapito real (Numenius arquata), vuelvepiedras común (Arenaria interpres), charrán patinegro (Thalasseus sandviensis), alcatraz atlántico (Morus bassanus), cormorán grande (Phalacrocorax carbo), garza real (Ardea cinerea), garceta común (Egretta garzetta) y serín verdecillo (Serinus serinus).
