SACRE Campo de Belchite 2015

Collalba rubia - Black-eared wheatear (Oenanthe hispanica)

One more year (and it´s already 5) and in the company of my father, we made the first visit of coordinated SACRE census on the square I have assigned in the Campo de Belchite region (see previous entries which best described the area).

Cogujada montesina - Thekla lark (Galerida theklae)

On the first visit is more usually observed fewer species because all summer species from Africa haven´t come yet. Despite this, during the day we could detect a total of 48 species on the census and over 50 if you count these ones that we saw outside of it.

Calandria - Calandra lark (Melanocorypha calandra)

Calandria - Calandra lark (Melanocorypha calandra)

Collalba rubia - Black-eared wheatear (Oenanthe hispanica)

Furthermore, we add three new species for the square, two (lesser kestrel and common crossbill), which I really wanted to see in the area and one that I did not expect to see (yellow wagtail), because there is a big difference between the habitat in that square and habitat which is usually observed

Águila real - Golden eagle (Aquila chrysaetos)

Escribano triguero - Corn bunting (Emberiza calndra)

Besides we can enjoy with two ungulates species that are usually seen on the area.

Corzo - Roe deer (Capreolus capreolus)

Cabra montés - Iberian ibex (Capra pyrenaica hispanica)

Escribano triguero - Corn bunting (Emberiza calandra )

Carricero tordal - Great reed warbler (Acrocephalus arundinaceus)

The other day at the water park besides the wood warbler also I could see and photograph several males of great reed warbler singing in the areas of reed. Very easy to identified by their incessant singing in this type of habitat and I still hadn´t photographs of this specie.

Mosquitero silbador . Wood warbler (Phylloscopus sibilatrix)

Following with the warblers, I dedicate this entry to the wood warbler, one of the rarest species of the genus Phylloscopus in the Iberian Peninsula and it who can only be observed in migratory pass.

Taking advantage of this weekend that I´m Zaragoza and the numerous comments that are happening these days of this specie, I went yesterday afternoon to the Water Park and I was observing and photographing pacidly three individuals who flew with flycatchers, Bonelli´s warblers, common whitethroat and many other passerines.
